GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Kennedy Berkley Yarnevich & Williamson, Chartered, a full service law firm, announced today that it has opened a new office located at 1811 East Mary Street, Suite B, in Garden City, Kan.
This office is headed by attorney Marc E. Kliewer, who has represented agribusiness clients in western Kansas and eastern Colorado for over 25 years. His knowledge of the grain industry, ethanol production industry, cotton ginning industry, and the agronomy supply industry has paid dividends for his clients across the High Plains.
Kliewer was raised near Nescatunga, Okla., and received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego and is also a graduate of the New Mexico School of Banking. He is a member of Renew Kansas (the trade association for Kansas ethanol producers), Kansas Grain & Feed Association, National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, Kansas Cotton Association, Colorado Bar Association, and Kansas Bar Association.
He is the co-author of “Overview of Stockholder Appraisal Issues in Mergers and Consolidations of Farmer Cooperatives,” which was published in the spring 1998 edition of The Cooperative Accountant. He has also testified in front of the Kansas Senate Tax Committee concerning ad valorem tax reform legislation affecting complex industrial facilities.
