Kennedy Berkley Yarnevich & Williamson Expands Its Criminal Defense Practice

Kennedy Berkley Yarnevich & Williamson, Chtd., a full-service law firm, welcomes attorney Heather R. Fletcher to the Hays office. Fletcher is a criminal defense attorney representing individuals who have been charged with crimes ranging from low to high-level offenses for both misdemeanors and felonies. She also handles family and juvenile cases such as juvenile offenders and protection from abuse & stalking.

“Kennedy Berkley is always looking for bright and aggressive attorneys to add to our team,” said Managing Partner James R. Angell. “With Fletcher’s background and experience she will provide a unique insight for her clients and expand the services provided by the firm. She is an excellent addition to the Hays office.”

Before practicing law, Fletcher worked at the Russell County Sherriff’s Office, and then spent 10 years at Central Kansas Community Corrections beginning as an Intensive Supervision Officer I and ending as the Assistant Director/Intensive Supervision Officer II. There she helped rehabilitate high risk offenders and supervised convicted felons while on probation.

“I am excited to be a part of the Kennedy Berkley team,” Fletcher said. “Working for Kennedy Berkley allows me to use their vast resources to build my practice while providing real value to my clients.”

Fletcher’s addition comes during an exciting period of growth for Kennedy Berkley. This year, the firm announced the addition of M. Joseph Kuhn to lead Kennedy Berkley’s new Disability Law Group, and in 2013, Kennedy Berkley opened a new office in Olathe, Kansas.

Fletcher earned her law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2013 and two B.A.s from Fort Hays State in Biology & General Science and Secondary Education in 1995.

Fletcher currently resides in Russell, Kansas where she serves as a board member of the Planning Commission.

Outside the office, Fletcher and her husband, John, enjoy tending to their rental properties as well as investing and flipping real estate.
