John F. Thompson, II, Associate Attorney

John works primarily in the firm's Kansas City office. He counsels wealthy individuals, closely-held businesses, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions in the areas of business succession planning, capital markets, corporate finance, corporate restructuring and cross-border transactions.

Prior to joining Kennedy Berkley John worked for a China focused private equity fund with approximately $300 million under management where he handled the sourcing, due diligence and reporting requirements for the firm's equity investments in Hong Kong and mainland China. John also worked in the private client services division of Great Plains Trust Company in Overland Park, Kansas advising clients in the areas of investment management, estate planning and pension plan design.
