John F. Thompson, II, Associate Attorney

John was born in Kansas City in 1981 and moved to Salina in 1983 where he graduated from Salina High School South in 1999. He received his BS degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance and minor in Economics, graduating cum laude in December of 2003. He then received a Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of Kansas. Prior to joining the firm he worked for Jayhawk Capital Management, LLC where he was primarily responsible for assisting in the legal due diligence, financial analysis, and execution of the firm’s private equity investments in China. Prior to joining the firm John also worked with Great Plains Trust Company in Kansas City.

John’s practice emphasizes banking law and regulations, corporate and commercial transactions, creditor’s rights, real estate law, estate planning, and estate and trust administration. John is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and the International Trade Council of Kansas City.
