From its inception, the Firm has maintained a strong practice in business and corporate matters and commercial transactions. The founders of the Firm, Thomas J. Kennedy and Robert B. Berkley, in addition to being lawyers, were credentialed as Certified Public Accountants. With this strong accounting, taxation and business background, the Firm’s practice for a number of years was primarily business law. Today that area of practice continues to be a principal scope of practice of the firm, and includes corporate and business law, formation of business entities, sale and purchase of businesses, and commercial transactions.
